Bristol is a very children friendly city and apart from strolling
around with your kids, try walking up Cabots Tower, or even watching
the boats near the harbour or treat them to a ferry ride around
the city. Near Brandon Hill there are swings to play on. and also
the City Museum is good for two or three hours. The Clifton Suspension
Bridge is worth a walk across and will really impress adults, never
mind children.
It has to be one of the most impressive bridges in the world. Near
the bridge there is also the Clifton Observatory and if that is
not enough, they will probably drag you through the Caves which
are also nearby. There is a Windmill City Farm that has a country
feel to the place and if you have oodles of energy left, bring them
to the Bristol Zoo for some wild life on show.
The Yearly Festival each summer at St. Paul’s African and
Caribbean Carnival is a great community event with great music.
Do not forget about the Bristol Balloon festival along with the
city’s Harbour Regatta. And if the kids are almost teenagers,
you can spoil them and yourself by bringing them to the Glastonbury
Festival which is only 15 miles away. Have fun!
